Expleo Engineering UK are seeking a Manufacturing Process Engineer who has process, project management, and experience of design and install of manufacturing processes and equipment. Based on site with a Global Automotive manufacturer in the Chester area.
Responsibilities
1. Design process - feasibility
2. Co-design Product & Process
3. Style Assessment: check and quotation
4. Requirements monitoring (definition scope according to RFQ schedule and follow-up)
5. Assembly Integration and Validation Plan and Digital ECM Quotation: manage and check
6. Define the list of parts needed for the mock-up and trials
7. Participation in meetings: Hot housing meeting, area meeting, GDM meeting
8. Technical review: validation robustness
9. Traceability/conformity/safety tightening/sensitive process
10. Management DST and assembly
11. Contribution to SP² assessment
12. Assembly process adaptation
13. Elaboration of the assembly sequence respecting the target gateways; if deviation from the target, justify this deviation
14. Quotation of the different solutions if necessary: time, investments, surface, sequential delivering
15. Definition of operating process and process sheets
16. Development of product and process feasibility for assembly
17. Technical proposals to guarantee assembly
18. Creation of requests for tools/equipment
19. Creation of FOA (fiches d'ouverture d'affaire) request for study of specific tools or studying feasibility of assembling
20. CAO environment will be provided to tool supplier for making feasibility study
21. Participation in the construction of ways of integrating and validating process (contribution to book of specification of the equipment)
22. Assembly evaluation synthesis to fill in the delivery's acceptance
23. Creation of process sheets
24. Creation of assembly process sheets for one main car and then for all diversities according to our standards
25. Definition of operating mode with evaluation of time needed to do operations by using MTM2 analysis
26. Realisation of the illustration coming from PLM of P sheets (M,D,E and A) from CAO
27. Analysis and reduction of tightening; the process sheets will be written in English, automatic foreign translation should be provided (according to list to be defined by the OEM at SFM)
28. Validation on plant and pilot line
29. Transfer to manufacturing team the process sheets
30. Management of solving assembly issues during assembling (reactivity)
31. Participation and update of PS during assembling of car dedicated to validate process sheets ('slow build')
32. Support of assembly unit leader for the first vehicle
33. Time adjustment for specific Process Sheet (manipulator)
34. Transfer to serial team of all P sheets
Qualifications
1. HNC/Degree (or equivalent) in Mechanical or Engineering
2. A high level of understanding of manufacturing process and procedures ideally within a fast-paced environment
3. Knowledge and experience of automotive process engineering
4. Knowledge of Project Management
5. Experience of design and install of manufacturing processes and equipment
6. Good communication & negotiation skills
7. Strong cross-functional team leadership skills
8. Able to work autonomously, with a hands-on approach
9. Good computer skills with a good working knowledge of MS Office; knowledge of CAD systems AutoCad/Spacevision/Catia an advantage
10. Good communication skills, written & verbal
11. Self-motivated team worker with a flexible working approach
