We offer a large range of support to students across our college on all college sites. Our students are at the heart of our person-centred approach, and we support all our 120 learning support staff to develop and embed outstanding skills and knowledge. As a Basic Skills Learning Support Assistant (LSA), you will support adult learners aged 19 and older who are working towards qualifications ranging from Entry Level 1 to Level 2. In this role, you will collaborate closely with a team of teachers to help adult students overcome barriers to learning. As an ESOL Learning Support Assistant (LSA), your role will be to assist adult learners aged 19 and older as they pursue qualifications from Entry Level 1 to Level 2. The learners in the ESOL program come from over 30 different countries. You will assist with shared group support, one-on-one individual support, in-class support, out-of-class support, and facilitate outdoor sporting activities. It is preferred that candidates have some experience working with overseas students and demonstrate empathy towards individuals for whom English is an additional language.
