About the role
In this position, you will support the design, development and embedding of the risk management framework, including promoting a strong risk culture of accountability and awareness across abrdn. The role has specific responsibility for leading on the collation and submission of materials for the monthly Executive Risk Committee.
Key Responsibilities:
* Support the design, development and delivery of the Enterprise Risk Management Framework (ERMF), including the development, delivery and ongoing review of the following processes: Risk and Control Self-Assessment (RCSA), Risk Appetite, Risk Taxonomy, Risk Events, Issues & Actions, and Root Cause Analysis.
* Lead the co-ordination of the RCSA lifecycle and oversight process, including engaging with relevant Operational Risk teams and the Systems team to design, and support effective execution of, a robust RCSA review and attestation process.
* Lead the annual risk appetite refresh activity, ensuring an appropriate framework is in place to establish risk appetite statements and indicators for abrdn, and the ongoing monitoring and reporting of them thereafter to forums and committees as appropriate.
* Lead the maintenance of the suite of ERMF supporting materials, including established Standards and Procedures as appropriate.
* Responsible for the production of relevant management information for Forums, Committees and Boards with a specific focus on the monthly Executive Risk Committee.
* Contribute to the development and ongoing monitoring of a mature risk culture across abrdn.
* Build and maintain strong, effective stakeholder relationships within the enabling functions, working collaboratively to create a culture that encourages forward looking and commercial thinking to embed risk management in decision making.
* Support with delivery of training to ERMF to stakeholders across all lines of defence as required.
* Provide direction to business stakeholders on the implementation and use of the ERMF.
* Support wider R&C teams in the delivery of functional activities where required and where appropriate.
About the candidate
* Knowledge and experience in relation to the design and implementation of Risk Management Frameworks.
* Experience in the development of Risk and Compliance policies, standards, tools and methodologies.
* Experience of supporting global teams with the implementation of Risk Frameworks.
* Knowledge and experience in relation to the design, management and delivery of Risk and/or Compliance training.
* Excellent communication & stakeholder engagement; ability to articulate complex concepts in an effective way.
* Ability to facilitate collaborative working within and across teams.
* Knowledge of the asset management industry and key developments.
* Expertise within risk management and/or compliance disciplines.
* Ability to deliver in a proactive and collaborative manner for the benefit of relevant stakeholders.
* Strong MS skills including Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Teams.
