Job Summary
We are seeking dedicated and compassionate Wraparound Care Venue Leads to oversee our team of Playworkers and Activity Professionals for a term time only position (40 weeks p.a - Salary pro rata). The ideal candidates will possess strong leadership skills and a passion for supporting individuals in a Primary school setting.
Your Purpose
Responsible for the development and daily management of the club.
Providing a safe and caring environment in line with relevant statutory guidance.
Providing children aged 4 to 11 years a range of play, EYFS learning, and sport activities.
Organising a daily routine that provides enrichment and meets the emotional, social, physical, and intellectual needs of the children.
Building links and working in partnership with parents, carers, and professionals to promote the well-being of the children.
Reconciliation of payments and daily updates of registers.
Essential Knowledge:
NVQ Level 3 in Playwork/Childcare.
Previous experience in leading/supervising childcare provisions.
An understanding of OFSTED requirements.
Good understanding of child protection, child development, health & safety legislation.
To provide full care for the children, including maintaining a register of children attending the Club, following up any unexpected absences, and ensuring safe delivery to parents and/or named carers.
Be aware of and comply with policies and procedures relating to child protection, health, safety and security, confidentiality and data protection, behaviour management, reporting all concerns to an appropriate person.
Contribute to the overall ethos of the club.
Knowledge of how to manage a team.
Knowledge of safeguarding requirements and how to implement them.
Commitment to and understanding of Equal Opportunities.
Basic understanding of child development and learning.
Knowledge of food hygiene.
Knowledge and understanding of playwork principles.
Taking a lead role in promoting and supporting student and staff safety and well-being, anticipating and responding to potential threats.
Essential Skills and Abilities:
Enthusiastic and flexible approach to work.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Passionate about all aspects of childcare and education, and able to bring new ideas to the role.
You will need to have a caring and dynamic approach, as well as an ability to lead and motivate a range of staff.
Monitor and evaluate the quality of the service across the business.
To keep up to date with any legislative changes in the childcare sector.
To be able to support the business' SLT to help manage and mitigate risk relative to WAC.
Schedule, chair, and minute team meetings effectively and accurately.
Essential Experience:
Working with children in the 4-11 years age range.
Experience of liaising with parents/carers.
Experience with administration systems.
Prior budgetary experience is essential.
Management experience (desirable).
Ability to manage and motivate a small team.
Ability to use initiative.
Innovative and can manage change.
Good organisational skills.
Competent in using computer systems including email, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and Publisher.
