We are excited to offer this opportunity to an experienced band 5 Staff Nurse within Same Day Emergency Care for Medicine. The Staff Nurse will join a team of SDEC Clinical Nurse specialists, staff nurses, and health care assistants to support a rapidly changing service. The appointed candidate will be supported by all members of the team and the Department Leader.
Main duties of the job
* Ensure the journey of the patient and the care they receive is pinnacle to what we do.
* Ensure that we utilise the service and see a range of different patients.
* Work collaboratively with the front door and community services to ensure patients are directed to the area best suited for their care.
* To be aware of what Same Day Emergency Care is and the purpose surrounding it.
* To have experience in Acute medicine/Emergency care or knowledge about it.
* To be able to work under pressure in a fast-paced area.
* To be aware of different pathways we use within the service.

Qualifications and Training
* Demonstrable post-registration professional development in general medicine.
* 998 or other recognised teaching course.
* ALS course.
* Recognised leadership development programme attendance.
* Minor Illness qualification or willing to work towards.
Experience
* Significant experience at band 5 in specialty or relevant experience (Acute medicine/Emergency Care).
