Overview
Key Responsibilities:
1. Oversee the daily operations of the children’s home, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and best practices.
2. Lead, mentor, and support a team of residential staff, promoting a positive and collaborative work environment.
3. Develop and implement individual care plans tailored to the needs of each child, ensuring their emotional and physical well-being.
4. Foster positive relationships with children, families, and external stakeholders, including social workers and educational professionals.
5. Manage budgets, resources, and staffing levels effectively to ensure the smooth running of the home.
6. Conduct regular assessments and reviews of care practices, implementing improvements as necessary.
7. Ensure that all documentation and records are maintained accurately and in accordance with legal requirements.
8. Promote a culture of safeguarding and child protection, ensuring that the safety and welfare of children are always prioritized.
Qualifications:
1. Proven experience in a managerial role within a children’s residential setting or similar environment (minimum of two years).
2. A relevant qualification in social work, childcare, or management is essential.
3. Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate staff.
4. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a strong commitment to building positive relationships.
5. Knowledge of relevant legislation, policies, and best practices in children’s care.
6. Ability to work flexibly, including evenings and weekends, as required.
7. A valid driving license is an advantage.
