Job Description Summary
To manage and control the flow of engine and single item components through CNI (Clean, NDT, Inspect and final inspection) to ensure consistent flow of material. Goal is to greatly improve the efficiency and productivity of the section to achieve target completion dates.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Transportation of components and barrows between Clean, NDT, Inspection as well as final inspection to ensure constant flow of material to achieve target completion dates.
2. Determine production schedule through use of Spotfire tool and cell scheduler.
3. Control the use of WIP lanes and improve procedures for barrow identification.
4. Aid in the location of components misplaced during CNI transportation.
5. Assist with the supply of consumable material from the stores into CNI.
6. To liaise with lead mechanics, cell leader and customer cell on relevant communication issues.
7. Attend production meetings, update on material progress, and provide early notification of flow issues, bottlenecks, etc.
8. Assist in the update and maintenance of the production reports.
9. Champion LEAN to ensure that every opportunity to drive improvement is exploited.
Experience/Qualification
1. Good general knowledge of engine components.
2. A good level of computer literacy (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Web Based portals).
3. Effective communication skills and ability to interact at all levels.
4. Ability to prioritise and manage jobs efficiently.
5. Good working knowledge of material handling procedures.
6. Demonstrate good judgment, interpersonal skills, and initiative.
Security Clearance
Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) clearance is required and must be maintained for this role. Please note that in the event that BPSS clearance cannot be obtained, you may not be eligible for the role and/or any offer of employment may be withdrawn on grounds of national security.
