Graduate Building Surveyor
My client is a prominent public sector organisation who manage a billion-pound commercial portfolio which includes over 1800 assets in retail, office, industrial and mixed used properties. They have an incredible opportunity for a Graduate Building Surveyor to join the team.
As a Graduate Building Surveyor, you will support the Projects Manager and Asset Manager to provide professional services in the management of the clients' portfolio, whilst progressing towards chartership (MRICS).
Key Responsibilities:
1. Under guidance and supervision, undertake a wide range of Building Surveying services including serving and negotiating dilapidations, schedules of condition, condition surveys, pre-acquisition surveys, fire insurance/reinstatement valuations, feasibility studies and landlord consents.
2. Prepare and draft reports for professional consideration, outlining proposals and results.
3. Assist with procurement, delivery, and contract administration of projects.
4. Work collaboratively with stakeholders and partners, developing networks that support decision making.
5. Assist in the implementation of the Policies, Strategies and Standards for Development and Disposal opportunities.
6. Ensure property information is gathered as required, to enable appropriate records to be maintained and reports to be prepared.
7. Contribute to the development and implementation of a robust Asset Management Rating system for the portfolio and contribute to the CPGI Asset Management Plan.
8. Responsible for ensuring Health and Safety and risk management procedures are understood and adhered to.
Required Skills:
1. Two years’ experience carrying out building surveying services.
2. Knowledge of Microsoft Project or similar planning application(s).
3. Experience in preparation of reports.
4. Knowledge of the Technical Standards (Scotland).
5. Knowledge of Planning legislation.
6. Excellent communication and presentation skills.
7. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment on multiple tasks.
Additional Qualifications:
1. Enrolled or committed to enrol in the RICS Assessment of Professional Competence (APC).
2. Full driving licence.
3. BSc (Hons) in Building Surveying or equivalent.
