We have an exciting new opportunity for a Reliability Engineer to join the RVSS team on a permanent basis, based at our Swiftfields Development Centre. The successful individual will define and implement reliability tests and methodologies across various products, which will ensure they achieve their reliability targets in the field and operate with minimal OPEX. You'll have the opportunity to work on some fantastic critical business projects!
Roles and Responsibilities
1. Define test strategies for new product development including key metrics to measure, test and analyse.
2. Support new test programmes by advising on sample sizes, statistical confidence levels and other reliability targets that need to be achieved.
3. Develop predictive reliability models for new and existing products.
4. Support design and development of long-term reliability rigs.
5. Quantify the impact on reliability of any design changes or cost down projects.
6. Use accelerated life testing & stress screening techniques to realise potential weaknesses in design of new products. Work with other teams to mitigate them.
7. Identify opportunities to improve or create new KPIs (Key Performance Indicators) for existing and new products.
8. Extract useful statistics from existing product(s) in order to drive improvements for the next generation of design.
9. Lead and collaborate on root cause investigations in product reliability issues.
10. Facilitate and lead Risk analysis and FMEA Workshops.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience
1. Understanding and application of 'Design for Reliability' principles in new product development.
2. Experience of collating, analysing and interpreting large data sets.
3. Ability to produce and present technical findings across all business levels.
4. Experience of using accelerated life testing, reliability growth curves in electro-mechanical product development.
5. Passion for identifying and presenting underlying 'causes' behind data trends.
6. Attention to detail, self-starter with a "Can-do" attitude.
7. Collaborative and growth mindset.
8. Shares knowledge and loves to coach / develop others in best practices.
9. A statistics based post-graduate qualification.
10. An honours degree in a numerate discipline such as Mechanical/Mechatronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Physics or Mathematics.
11. Excellent numerical, modelling and structured problem-solving skills.
12. Experience of using Minitab and/or Six Sigma toolkits.
13. Proficiency in reliability software packages such as BlockSIM, Weibull++.
