We are looking for a Business Administration Apprentice to join our friendly insurance team. The people who choose to work for us are lovely, bright and outgoing. £16,770 a year
Your salary will be reviewed every three months and by the end of the apprenticeship you will be on £18,000 per year.

Work
As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.
What you’ll do at work
The purpose of the role is to create insurance solutions which provide people with the confidence toachieve their dreams. The majority of the duties will be office based, but as you grow in confidenceand ability, we’ll let you out to see clients, visit Lloyds of London and our Underwriters.
Previous apprentices have represented the company at the prestigious Insurance Times awards heldat the O2 where we have been a finalist three times.
Duties may include:
* Learning about Insurance and how it helps people and businesses
* Helping clients understand their insurance needs
* Talking to Insurers, presenting risks, explaining problems and creating solutions
* Preparing quotes and writing to clients
* Placing cover and collecting premiums
* Helping clients with their ongoing enquiries, including when they need to make a claim
* Negotiating with Underwriters and others
* Using multiple IT programmes such as Outlook and Word
* Communicating with clients and colleagues via email, face to face and over the phone
* Completing tasks and managing priorities
* Learning about the organisation
* Maintaining records and files
* Filing and general office admin
* The employer will be interviewing throughout the advertisement period

Course contents
* Skilled in the use of multiple IT packages and systems relevant to the organisation in order to: write letters or emails, create proposals, perform financial processes, record and analyse data. Examples include MS Office or equivalent packages. Able to choose the most appropriate IT solution to suit the business problem. Able to update and review databases, record information and produce data analysis where required.
* Produces accurate records and documents including: emails, letters, files, payments, reports and proposals. Makes recommendations for improvements and present solutions to management. Drafts correspondence, writes reports and able to review others' work. Maintains records and files, handles confidential information in compliance with the organisation's procedures. Coaches others in the processes required to complete these tasks.
* Exercises proactivity and good judgement. Makes effective decisions based on sound reasoning and is able to deal with challenges in a mature way. Seeks advice of more experienced team members when appropriate.
* Builds and maintains positive relationships within their own team and across the organisation. Demonstrates ability to influence and challenge appropriately. Becomes a role model to peers and team members, developing coaching skills as they gain area knowledge.
* Demonstrates good communication skills, whether face-to-face, on the telephone, in writing or on digital platforms. Uses the most appropriate channels to communicate effectively. Demonstrates agility and confidence in communications, carrying authority appropriately. Understands and applies social media solutions appropriately. Answers questions from inside and outside of the organisation, representing the organisation or department.

Your training plan
As part of the apprenticeship you will complete the Level 3 Business Administrator apprenticeship standard. You will receive a grade Pass or Distinction on completion.
In addition to the apprenticeship standard you will complete Level 2 Functional Skills in maths and English, if you don't have GCSEs grades C/4 or above or equivalent. The delivery will take place in the workplace and the final exams at one of East Sussex College's campuses.
The apprenticeship will be delivered fully in the workplace, and you will have assessor meetings every 4-6 weeks and workplace reviews every 10-12 weeks to monitor your progress. There will also be monthly workshops.

Other requirements
-When you’ve been with us for three months, we will offer you flexitime. You’ll be able to flex your work around our core hours to suit your lifestyle. You could also earn an extra 13 days holiday a year. -There is a cash plan scheme from day one to pay towards optical and dental treatment and a pension after 6 months. -The apprenticeship may start before the closing date. -A full DBS check will be undertaken before you begin the role. We will also need a personal credit check and a sanctions search.
