Join Us as a Customer Host – Talent Pool
Join our team as a customer host and be part of this exciting transformation. Enhance the experience for our Saturday and Sunday passengers by providing a warm welcome and outstanding at-seat refreshment service. This role is ideal for those with weekday commitments and offers a great opportunity to work onboard our trains.
Main Responsibilities:
1. Promote and Sell: Engage with customers to promote and sell GWR products onboard, ensuring they have the journey they deserve.
2. Maintain High Standards: Uphold the highest standards in all aspects of your work.
3. Be an ambassador: Represent Great Western Railway by embodying our Values and delivering excellent customer service.
4. Provide Exceptional Service: Deliver the best possible at-seat service to our customers.
5. Prioritize Safety: Always adhere to safety principles, ensuring the safest journey for our customers.
6. Ensure Cleanliness: Maintain a clean, hygienic, and pleasant environment for our customers.
Ideal Candidate Profile:
1. Sales or Customer Service Background: Experience in sales or customer service is essential.
2. Passionate About Customer Service: Enthusiastic about providing outstanding customer service.
3. Flexible Schedule: Ability to work various shifts, including weekends and bank holidays.
4. Sales-Driven: Motivated to achieve high sales levels.
5. Proactive Attitude: Possess a ‘can do' attitude and proactive approach.
6. Comfortable with Regulations: Able to work effectively in a regulated environment.
Requirements:
1. Payment Handling Experience: Proficient in cash handling and card payments.
2. Strong Communication Skills: Excellent communication abilities.
3. Team and Independent Worker: Ability to work well both as part of a team and independently.
4. Food Safety Knowledge: Previous experience with food safety is desirable.
5. Stock Control Experience: Experience in stock control and ordering is desirable.
What Is the Reward?

Your uniform is provided. The basic starting salary is £23,275 pro rata, rising to £30,450 after probation.
