About Us
Avance Care provides supported accommodation services which enable young people in care to transition and develop independent living skills to prepare for independent living and adulthood.
We work directly with all young people and professionals involved with a holistic approach in order to deliver positive outcomes for all young people placed with us.
We are looking for an experienced youth support worker who is experienced in working with young people with challenging behaviour, trauma and SEN.
This individual will be:
* based in our solo homes
* working 12 hour shifts
* self employed
Responsibilities:
* Develop and implement educational programs and activities for youth
* Offer key worker sessions and workshops
* Support young people with neurodivergence
* Collaborate with other professionals to meet the needs of the young person
* Mentor and provide guidance to youth in personal and social development
* Create a safe and inclusive environment for all young people
* Monitor and supervise youth in the home
* Improve and enhance young people's lives
Skills:
* Experience working with children, particularly those with challenging backgrounds
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Patience, empathy, and the ability to build rapport with youth
* Non-judgmental approach
* Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks
* Ability to work effectively in a team
* Ability to use their initiative

Qualifications
* Experience working or mentoring young people (15-18 years old).
* Good IT and documentation skills
* Strong communication skills to effectively engage with young individuals
* Knowledge of special needs/neurodivergence
* Organisational skills to manage multiple tasks and activities effectively
* Knowledge of safeguarding and care services
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: £24,960.00-£28,000.00 per year
Expected Hours: 48 – 84 per week
