Responsibilities
1. Conduct comprehensive on-site inspections of residential, commercial, and industrial buildings to assess compliance with building codes and safety regulations.
2. Review and evaluate construction plans, specifications, and details for compliance with local and state building codes.
3. Prepare detailed reports on inspection findings, including identifying potential code violations and safety concerns.
4. Provide expert advice and recommendations to contractors, homeowners, and architects on compliance with building regulations.
5. Communicate effectively with stakeholders, including builders and government agencies, to facilitate smooth inspection processes and resolve issues.
6. Stay informed about changes to building codes, regulations, and best practices to ensure effective inspections and reporting.
7. Participate in training and professional development opportunities to enhance knowledge and skills in the field of building inspection.
Requirements
1. Valid registration as a Building Inspector in the state or municipality of employment.
2. Proven experience in construction, architecture, or a related field, ideally with previous inspection duties.
3. In-depth knowledge of building codes, zoning laws, and safety regulations.
4. Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify and resolve problems effectively and efficiently.
5. Excellent written and verbal communication skills for reporting findings and advising stakeholders.
6. Ability to work independently and manage time effectively to meet inspection schedules and deadlines.
7. Physical ability to perform on-site inspections, including climbing ladders and navigating construction sites.
