The Job Role:
Owing to continued expansion, we have an opportunity for a Head of People to assist the senior management team in running all aspects of HR and Recruitment within our business.
We are seeking a commercially focused, enthusiastic individual with excellent people management skills.
Working closely with senior management to oversee the HR function, this job entails taking day-to-day responsibility for overseeing the recruitment process, planning and implementing training programs for staff and ensuring that employees follow best practices and company policies.
The Responsibilities
* Overseeing recruitment, selection and the onboarding process
* Managing the company’s appraisal system and helping to conduct appraisal meetings
* Ensuring that the company’s procedures comply with employment regulations
* Monitoring various aspects of an employee’s performance, such as attendance and sick leave
* Compiling and maintaining paper, digital and electronic employee records, including holiday and sickness leave.
* Assessing the need for training and then designing and implementing training programs accordingly
* Assisting the senior management team in handling any disciplinary processes and formal grievances
* Assisting the senior management team in setting and reviewing pay structures and employee perks and benefits·
* Assisting the senior management team in setting and promoting the Hurst company culture and running internal events
* The position reports directly to the Directors
Job Requirements
As the role involves dealing with people on every level, you will need to have excellent interpersonal skills and should enjoy social interaction. The successful candidate will have:
* At least two to three years of experience within a general HR role, with a proven proficiency in the end-to-end recruitment process
* Excellent communication skills, including the ability to listen and effectively verbalise ideas
* A solid understanding of the key principles of employment law
* The ability to remain calm in stressful situations including during disciplinary hearings or staff conflicts
* Solid ethics and morals, and sound judgement

* Monday to Friday, 9am - 5.30pm

Salary & Benefits:
Competitive Salary £35,000 - £45,000
