SEN Teaching Assistant - Autism Support - Rochdale Supporting behaviour and inclusion for a pupil with Autism 1:1 support for a pupil in Key Stage 1 School-based experience is not essential. Monarch Education are working with a primary school in Rochdale who are seeking a dedicated and compassionate 1:1 Learning Support Assistant to work with a Key Stage 1 pupil who has a diagnosis of Autism. The ideal candidate will have experience supporting individuals with Autism, regardless of age, and be able to foster an inclusive learning environment, especially for non-verbal pupils. The role will begin as soon as possible, with the potential to continue for the remainder of the pupil's time at the school. This is a full-time position, Monday to Friday, from 8:30 am to 3:30 pm. Key Responsibilities: Provide 1:1 support to a Key Stage 1 pupil with Autism, helping them access the curriculum and engage in school activities. Support the pupil in managing behaviour and developing social skills in line with their individual needs. Assist in creating and implementing personalised timetables and learning plans. Foster an inclusive and nurturing learning environment where the pupil can thrive. The Ideal Candidate Will: Have experience supporting children or young people with Special Educational Needs (SEN), particularly those with sensory needs and/or speech, language, and communication needs. This experience need not be school-based-those from other relevant backgrounds are welcome to apply. Demonstrate a calm, patient, and nurturing approach to supporting pupils. Be able to implement personalised learning plans and adapt strategies to meet the pupil's individual needs. Have knowledge or experience of working with children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).
