Job Summary
Manage and implement the Bank’s monthly IFRS9 Expected Credit Loss calculation and reporting processes. Delivery of a broad range of internal and regulatory financial stress tests and scenario analysis, in particular for going concern and ICAAP purposes, to assist with management decision making and risk assessment.
Key Work Outputs and Accountabilities
* Managing the ongoing monthly production of IFRS 9 expected credit losses using the Bank’s models.
* Provide regular analytical commentary, monitoring/MI reporting packs to allow senior management to understand the Bank’s ECL position.
* Preparation of risk management and IFRS 9 related notes in the statutory annual reports and providing related data for external and internal audit.
* Provision of financial stress test information, associated analysis and advice to support senior management in making decisions in respect of stress test results.
* Primary contact to address queries from various stakeholders, internally as well as externally regarding IFRS 9 and stress testing.
* Collaborate and liaise with the Risk department on workstreams that impact IFRS 9 and stress testing. Assist in the preparation of papers related to stress testing / IFRS 9 for the relevant governance committees.
* Participate and contribute to ad-hoc projects as required.
Required Qualifications and Experience
* Qualified Accountant ideally ACA or ACCA with a strong background in IFRS.
* Good working knowledge of IFRS 9 within a banking environment.
* Excellent data and numeracy skills with attention to detail and the ability to maintain accuracy at all times.
* Strong controls background with experience in either external or internal audit.
* Good communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to explain and present technical information to a wider audience.
* The ability to work autonomously and take initiative, particularly in building/developing new processes and controls as the Bank’s systems or business change and evolve.
* Strong organisational skills with the ability to ensure efficiency whilst balancing priorities.
