The role: Military Pathway to B1 Licence or B2 Licence - Aircraft Mechanic
Carbon60 will provide all the training required to complete your CAA Part-66 Category B licence modules whilst performing OJT in a live hanger environment. This will be a 2-year programme including 26 weeks of training.
A hangar-based OJT with a global MRO will also be arranged and provide by Carbon60, for you to complete your CAA CAP 741 Logbook ready for application to the CAA.
Additionally, you'll benefit from a tailored ILM-accredited leadership program at the foundation degree level, which is designed to take and grow your existing military leadership prowess and help you develop leadership skills for transition into a civilian environment.
The work will be based in Birmingham with the 26 weeks training taking place in Manchester.
Please note: A minimum of 4 years of avionic or mechanical experience is required to join the programme.

When the training is completed and your licence gained, you'll be rewarding with an impressive salary of £64,785.

Role specifics
Start date - January 2025 Interview date - 11th December Rate - £40,000 starting, rising to £64,785 when training is completed. Base Location - Birmingham Airport (Training in Manchester)
Once the programme has been completed and your license has been gained, you will then move into a role with STS defence completing the below duties and responsibilities:
Carry out and certify aircraft maintenance within company approvals Ensure all scheduled and unscheduled maintenance requirements are accomplished Order spares using customer and company processes, complete paperwork for unserviceable components, and record maintenance activities accurately Support adhoc AOG requirements Perform required aircraft maintenance efficiently and promptly Rectify defects on inbound aircraft Meet and greet inbound aircraft and debrief the crew Conduct engineering dispatch of all aircraft as required Carry out maintenance tasks with minimal supervision Maintain a high standard of work in all tasks Complete all required documentation Comply with company procedures, policies, regulations, and MOE Maintain a safe and clean working environment Ensure all work adheres to Health & Safety and COSHH regulations
