Responsibilities and Activities:
1. Daily sorting/logging/storing/recording of all drilling equipment issued to and received back from site.
2. Correlating equipment storage records with drilling logs and assigning equipment locations into geotechnical computer system.
3. Maintaining consumable stock levels for all equipment, containers, environmental containers, labels and core boxes etc. for the daily supply to drillers and engineers.
4. Liaising with engineers and clients to ensure equipment is maintained and returned in acceptable and usable condition ready for the next job.
5. Routinely checking that there is enough fluids and equipment within the drilling equipment store, for all current and future projects.
6. Manual disposal of any unrepairable and damaged equipment along with notification to Contracts manager of any damaged assets.
7. Maintaining and repairing all types of drilling equipment to ensure a constant supply level is maintained.
8. Routine maintenance of store equipment and tidying and cleaning of the equipment store to ensure that the store operates safely and effectively, free of any tripping hazards and ensuring the area is clear for any and all forklift movements within the store.
9. Being punctual and on time, being proactive and looking for work when things are quieter than usual.
10. Be practical and be willing to learn new skills.
11. Be computer literate and have experience of spreadsheets to track equipment.
12. Be prepared to jump in to help where required across the business and cover for the Stores Manager when needed.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
1. Health & Safety awareness and forklift driver are essential.
2. Experience working within site drilling investigation to establish a smooth requisition request and return of equipment in preparation for the next job.
3. Experience of working in site investigation drilling with an excellent understanding of using the correct equipment to enable collection of the right samples.
4. Full driver license (travel may be required).
