Job Title: Project Planner
Location: London hybrid working 2 days in the office 3 days from home
Full-time, permanent
Salary: £40,000-£60,000 basic (Depending on experience) + private medical + additional benefits package
About the Role:
A leading consultancy is looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Project Planner to join their team in London. This position is ideal for someone with strong planning skills, capable of overseeing project timelines and collaborating with multiple teams to support large-scale infrastructure projects.
Key Responsibilities:
As a Project Planner, you will play a central role in guiding project schedules, supporting risk assessments, and aligning resources with project requirements. Working closely with internal and external stakeholders, your responsibilities will include:
* Supporting the creation of cost- and resource-based schedules that align with project milestones and key delivery dates.
* Tracking project progress, identifying potential risks, and advising on mitigation measures.
* Coordinating with Project Controls and Reporting teams to manage scheduling effectively.
* Assisting with the development of project timelines, setting up the Work Breakdown Structure (WBS), and aligning schedules with the Cost Breakdown Structure (CBS) and project data standards.
* Facilitating communication with project stakeholders to align on planning strategies and promote efficient practices.
* Reviewing and incorporating supply chain schedules into the main project timeline as needed.
* Keeping short- and medium-term project timelines updated to ensure they reflect overall project objectives.
* Assisting in "what-if" scenario planning to address conflicts and maintain project progress.
* Supporting the Planning Manager in setting team objectives, assessing performance, and encouraging continuous improvement in planning processes.
* Providing market insights to support strategic planning and growth initiatives.
* Conducting assessments of project control maturity to aid process development.
Required Skills & Experience:
* Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
* Significant experience in planning for major infrastructure or construction projects.
* Proficiency in MS Excel and project planning software such as Primavera P6.
* Familiarity with project performance tracking methods and reporting.
* Strong communication skills, especially for conveying complex information.
* Ability to work under deadlines and manage multiple priorities.
Required Skills & Experience:

* Experience in planning for large infrastructure or construction projects.
* Proficiency in MS Excel and project planning software (e.g., Primavera P6).
* Knowledge of project tracking and reporting.
* Strong communication skills for explaining technical information clearly.
