We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Chef Apprentice. You will be working with an experienced culinary team in all areas of our kitchens. You will work towards a recognised culinary qualification in collaboration with University College Birmingham.
The role will require energy, dedication, and organisation. You will get to work with people who enjoy what they do in an exciting environment where no two days are the same.
Key Responsibilities
* To maintain a high standard of specified work in accordance with the senior chef's instructions.
* To prepare and cook food ensuring that the highest possible quality is maintained.
* To carry out daily and weekly procedures, including temperature checks, food labelling/dating, and storage.
* To remove any hazards and make safe any defects in the kitchen or its equipment and report any problems to a senior chef.
* To keep high standards of personal hygiene, clean uniform, and professionalism in the kitchen.
* To assist with the acceptance and storage of deliveries and ensure all relevant company procedures are adhered to.
* To be familiar with the opening and closing procedures of the kitchen and carry them out as rotated.
* To keep high standards of cleanliness in the section where employed, also to assist in any job regarding hygiene or cleanliness asked for by a senior chef.
* To be aware of and comply with statutory requirements regarding the workplace such as health and safety, hygiene, fire prevention, employment law, etc.
* To be fully aware of all hygiene control and chemicals used in the workplace.
