Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and efficient Warehouse Worker to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our warehouse by handling various tasks related to materials management, shipping, and receiving. This position requires a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
1. Operate forklifts and other warehouse equipment safely and efficiently.
2. Load and unload goods from lorries, ensuring proper handling of materials.
3. Collection of materials from local distributors.
4. Manage stock levels and assist with inventory control using a Warehouse Management System (WMS).
5. Perform shipping and receiving duties, including verifying shipments against purchase orders.
6. Maintain an organised warehouse environment by keeping areas clean and free of hazards.
7. Assist with heavy lifting and moving of materials as required.
8. Utilise mechanical knowledge to perform basic maintenance on equipment when necessary.
9. Collaborate with team members to ensure timely completion of tasks and adherence to safety protocols.
Experience
1. Previous experience in a warehouse setting is preferred but not essential.
2. Familiarity with forklift operation and materials handling techniques is advantageous.
3. Basic knowledge of warehouse management systems, such as AS400, is desirable.
4. Ability to perform heavy lifting (up to 25 kg) consistently throughout the shift.
5. Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately.
6. Excellent teamwork skills with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: £12.00-£14.50 per hour
