Location: Doncaster / Scunthorpe
Salary: £35-40,000 negotiable, private cash/health plan
Full-time permanent. Hours: Monday - Thursday 8 am - 4.30 pm, Friday 8 am - 3.30 pm, with occasional early and late hours expected.
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Quality Manager to provide clear leadership for the development of an environment focused on Quality. This role is with a very established and reputable manufacturing firm specializing in commercial joinery projects.
Responsibilities
1. Develop Quality Management systems, including ISO14001 / ISO 9001, Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP), Controls Plans, Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA), and Supplier Quality Assurance (SQA) processes.
2. Maintain relationships with customers and suppliers to maximize profit and ensure efficiency.
3. Manage the audit program, supplier development, and improvement, ensuring project deliveries.
4. Work proactively with Directors, Managers, Supervisors, and Employees to maintain a program of continual improvement.
5. Lead a correct-at-source and problem-solving methodology (Lean).
6. Achieve quality targets for customers and business goals.
7. Contribute to the creation and implementation of best practice quality vision, strategy, policies, processes, and procedures to improve operational performance.
8. Implement all relevant procedures described in the Quality Management System and ensure compliance.
9. Respond to customer complaints, implementing short-term and long-term countermeasures.
10. Update quality documentation and communicate lessons learned from quality concerns in new customer contracts.
11. Ensure that all necessary systems and procedures are in place to satisfy customer requirements and audits.
12. Train others in all aspects of the quality system and application procedures.
13. Undertake internal and process audits of the Quality Management System.
14. Ensure maintenance is carried out correctly and on time, ensuring cleanliness and safety.
15. Lead regular inspection meetings with representatives from appropriate departments to establish action plans for improving build quality.
16. Produce written reports and make presentations. Ensure Health and Safety practices are observed.
17. Perform any other reasonable duties to assist the company in attaining its business objectives.
Requirements
Experience working within a manufacturing environment is essential. A positive and energetic attitude with the ability to work independently is required. Experience in a joinery environment is an advantage.
