Working as a Summer School Activity Leader allows you to earn more than just money. You ll gain the transferable skills that future employers are also looking for. You ll enjoy meeting new people and experiencing new challenges. We can even support you with full-board accommodation in many of our schools. What does it involve? At Stafford House Study Holidays, we welcome over 6,000 young learners (aged 817) from around the world each summer. Our mission is to help students improve their English through engaging classroom lessons and a lively program of activities and excursions. That s where you come in Locations: Bournemouth, Canterbury, Cambridge, Central London, Uxbridge, Northampton, and Oakham (notable for the Michael Owen Red Stars football school). - We can provide full-board accommodation for a nominal weekly deduction see below. This allows you to try a new location over summer (not available in Canterbury or Central London) Contracts: You can select a contract lasting 4-8 weeks, from 19th June to 10th August (25th August in Central London), dates vary depending on your school. You need to be available for at least 3 weeks in July, as this is our busiest period. What s in it for you as an Activity Leader? Lots of our Activity Leaders return in the following summers, which gives them the option to progress to more senior roles You must already have the right to work in the UK Incentive: Employees may receive a 500 discount on CELTA training course provided by Stafford House, post qualifying contract. (T&Cs apply contact us for more information) Pay: 586.08 per week holiday entitlement - There is an offset salary deduction for optional full-board accommodation of 74.62 per week if you wish to stay with us. This amount is set by the government. Why not read the full duties on our Job Description see our FAQs information sheet below What you ll need to be an Activity Leader: You must be able to work full-time (48 hours per week over 6-days) Lots of confidence, energy and enthusiasm. You don t need to have specific qualification, be an expert in a particular activity or be a good sportsperson, but you must have an interest and the ability to lead the varied activities for groups of young people. You must be professional, friendly and have a good understanding of how to support the well-being of young people. Be flexible, adaptable, and able to think on your feet Be a great communicator with a good level of spoken and written English We take safeguarding very seriously.
