We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Purchasing Manager to join our team and help us maintain our high standards of quality and efficiency.
Job Overview:
As the Purchasing Manager at Percy's Bakery/Chococo, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of the purchasing process for our two factories located in Yeovil and Poole. Your role will involve sourcing suppliers, negotiating contracts, managing inventory levels, and ensuring timely and cost-effective procurement of goods and services. You will work closely with other departments at both locations to ensure that our production needs are met and that we continue to deliver top-quality products to our customers.
Key Responsibilities:
* Develop and implement purchasing strategies to optimize cost, quality, and delivery for both Yeovil and Pool factories.
* Source and evaluate suppliers, negotiate contracts, and manage relationships to ensure favourable terms and reliable service.
* Monitor market trends and supplier performance to make informed purchasing decisions.
* Manage inventory levels across both locations to ensure that production requirements are met without overstocking or shortages.
* Collaborate with the production and quality teams at both factories to forecast needs and address any supply chain issues.
* Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and other important data.
* Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and relevant regulations.
* Review and approve purchase orders, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
* Address and resolve any issues related to suppliers or procurement processes.
Qualifications:
* Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field (preferred).
* Proven experience as a Purchasing Manager or similar role in a manufacturing or bakery environment.
* Strong negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
* Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.
* Proficiency in purchasing software and Microsoft Office Suite.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Willingness to travel between Yeovil and Poole as needed.
