Position Summary
The Tree Operations Coordinator will enjoy an experiential learning environment working as a valued member of the tree stewardship team. The role will support both Reep Green Solutions’ Backyard Tree Planting Program, which helps residents get the right tree in the right place with the right care, as well as our pilot Roadside Tree Planting project, which will lead afforestation efforts along regional and township roads. The role will also extend to other green infrastructure activities related to the Tree Trust program, Tree Nursery, Healthy Yards program, and stewardship events. This position requires someone who is detail-oriented, has excellent customer service and interpersonal skills, and enjoys working outdoors.
This is a hybrid role. This role includes in-person events and meetings, as well as virtual meetings and working remotely on tasks.
Hours: 5 days/week, totaling 37.5 hours/week
Term: April 21st to November 30, 2025, with opportunity for extension pending funding
Hourly Wage: $22.72 - $24.56 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
1. Supervise tree planting team and/or conduct tree planting at scheduled locations as part of Backyard Tree Planting (BYTP) & Roadside Tree Planting programs.
2. Conduct BYTP consults with property owners to help determine the right tree for the right place (requires the use of a personal vehicle to drive to residential properties across the Region of Waterloo and Guelph).
3. Drive company-sourced vehicle with trailer, following safety guidelines.
4. Assist with ordering and processing residential utility locates.
5. Support the development and implementation of detailed outreach, planting, and maintenance plans in coordination with municipal partners.
6. Represent Reep Green Solutions at various community engagement events.
7. Maintain records adhering to budget and reporting guidelines, track seasonal and annual deliverables and targets, and generate reports to assist with strategic planning.
8. Assist with the propagation and maintenance of tree stock at our nursery and seasonal staging site.
9. In addition to these responsibilities, other tasks may be added as required by the organization.
Qualifications
Education: College/Technical Training or Trades Certificate, University Degree, Postgraduate Education.
Skills & Professional Training: Driver's License - G, Clean Driving Record, First AID, CPR.
We’re Looking For Someone With
1. Tree planting experience in urban environments and/or a diploma/degree in urban forestry, environmental studies or related field.
2. ISA Certification and/or experience driving with a trailer is considered an asset.
3. Access to a vehicle with a full G driver’s license with proof of insurance and a clean driving record will be necessary to complete BYTP consults and additional tasks as necessary at various locations across the Region of Waterloo and Guelph.
4. Current Emergency First Aid + CPR certification (certification will be provided).
5. Ability to lift at least 50 lbs.
6. CSA approved safety boots are required.
7. Customer service experience and excellent attention to detail.
8. Experience working or volunteering with a not-for-profit organization.
9. Demonstrated interest in and commitment to environmental issues.
10. Ability to work in extreme weather outdoors doing physically demanding work.
11. Having a home workstation with reliable internet connection set up to work remotely when required will be essential.
Compensation: $22.72 to $24.56 /hour
