JOB TITLE: Plasterer

SALARY: £35,544.60 + van + benefits
This will initially be a 12-week temp arrangement with a goal to go permanent afterwards
The Employer:
We are looking to fill the role of a Plasterer within a housing environment. Our client is one of the largest Social Housing providers in the South of England, ambitious with a huge 5-year plan. We are seeking a Plasterer to assist with their main aim of creating a sustainable future for social housing, building new homes, and investing in existing ones to create vibrant, thriving communities.
The Role:
* Complete plastering and artexing repairs and plastering, artexing, decorations and tiling to the full range of Abri properties.
* To liaise with customers and colleagues, as appropriate, to ensure all relevant individuals are aware of progress and action taken. In more complex cases, refer the matter to a senior member of staff to identify the necessary remedial action.
* Provide high-quality service to Abri customers and maintain a good customer relationship acting as an ambassador for Abri.
* Ensure all works comply with relevant Health & Safety legislation.
* Follow policies and procedures in the performance of the duties of the post, including COSHH and appropriate use of equipment, PPE, & safety footwear.
* Deliver plastering, artexing, tiling, and other decorative repair work including internal and external rendering and plaster coving, on time within given priorities and attempt to carry out the repairs first time.
* Use and apply a “Schedule of Rates” for job costing repairs and ensure repair orders are varied to the correct value of completed works.
* Be available to cover out of hours emergency call-out in accordance with the rota.
* Accurately record progress and completion of jobs using a Personal Digital Assistant (PDA) and any other relevant Information Technology hardware.
* Collect job-related materials in accordance with value for money; maintain a comprehensive stock of materials within the works vehicle, completing works in the most cost-effective manner.
* Maintain the works vehicle in good condition, keep it clean, and carry out regular vehicle safety checks reporting any defects to the fleet administrator.
* Assist all other trades as and when required ensuring that customers receive the best possible quality service.
* Undertake any training needed to widen your skill level if required.
* Carry out other reasonable duties and responsibilities within the overall function commensurate with the grading and level of responsibilities of the post.
The Candidate needs:
* Demonstrable experience with a variety of plastering, artexing, tiling, render, and decorating works across a variety of properties.
* NVQ level 2 or 3 or time-served experience in plastering, artexing, tiling, rendering, and decorations.
* Experience of working as part of a trade team delivering to tight time scales.
* Ability to record accurately works undertaken, record hours, materials, and costs. This may be via paper or electronic submission.
* Full driving licence.
* Ability to undertake physically demanding work.
SUMMARY:
This is a Permanent, full-time role, working a 40-hour week over 5 days. The role requires a satisfactory Basic DBS check.
