We are seeking to appoint two motivated, enthusiastic and organised planning professionals who can make a significant contribution in helping to lead the performance and achievements of our Development Management Team. You will have the ambition and skills to assist the Team Leader in mentoring, supervising and managing a team of Planners in the processing and determination of planning applications, whilst being able to progress a small case load of more complex proposals. You will have significant experience of dealing with such complex planning applications including Major development proposals and appeals, proactively and in a timely manner to achieve the best outcomes for the people and places of Kirklees.
You will be able to demonstrate sound knowledge of current planning legislation and associated guidance in your application; and have good interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills; listening, and negotiation skills; an ability to accept responsibility and work constructively within a small team; an ability to organise and prioritise your own workload; and competence in working in a digital environment. You will be able to demonstrate clear understanding and experience of successfully working within a sensitive political environment.
