Hunter Mental Health is currently working alongside an excellent Adults Learning Disabilities team and assisting in their search for a locum Social Worker.

4. Schedule: Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm

6. Rate of pay: £29.11 - £31.27ph (Umbrella)
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a qualified social worker to join the integrated Learning Disability team in Hackney. You will be working alongside clinical leads and social care managers. We are looking for experienced Social Workers with extensive knowledge and experience of completing Care Act Assessments, Mental Capacity Assessments, community DOL assessments, and participating in our eligibility assessments process. The candidate should have extensive knowledge and experience of working with Adults with Learning Disabilities and their carers, particularly those with complex care needs.
The candidate must ensure that the requirements of the MCA 2005 are met and that the service users' rights under the ECHR (Human Rights Act 1998) are upheld. Responsibilities include completing Mental Capacity and/or Best Interest Assessments, eligibility assessments, and relevant documents for community DOL. Although some of the role involves working from home, the social worker will need to visit service users in the community for assessments. We are looking for a person with an excellent understanding of community DOL assessments. In return, we will provide excellent training to enhance their knowledge and understanding of eligibility assessments. The social worker should aim to achieve one eligibility assessment and two DOL assessments per week.
Requirements and qualifications required for this role:
1. Current and valid registration with the SWE
2. Proven experience within a Social Work role
3. Strong communication and interpersonal skills
4. Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
5. Commitment to providing high-quality patient care
6. Car driver to travel across multiple sites
7. Fully on-site and hybrid/remote working options to be discussed during the interview (team can offer up to 2-3 days remote)
