Main duties of the job Act as a role model demonstrating high standards of clinical practice and providing leadership to otherso Lead the development, management and promotion of the specialist nursing service ensuring the delivery of high quality, cost-effective care that meets the needs of patients in accordance with national and local policies and initiativeso Work collaboratively with the clinical lead and the MDT for the service and contribute to the identification of service objectives, annual reports and annual work plans for the serviceo Use advanced communication skills delivering highly complex, sensitive, significant or contentious information to patients and carers. This may include results of tests, management options, details of prognosis and impending end of life discussionso Make clinical sound judgements surrounding complex health concerns or situations which require analysis, interpretation and comparison of a range of care options to enable initiation of interventions to support patients healthcare needso Be a point of contact for our patients and staffo Will be responsible for the ongoing development, evaluation and management of the specialist Head and Neck cancer nursing service.o Management of a team of existing Clinical Nurse Specialists and Macmillian Cancer Support Worker role.o Lead the development and embedding of the Electronic Holistic Nursing Assessments within the Head and Neck specialty About us Chesterfield Royal Hospital is located in Calow, Chesterfield, which is situated on a green field site on the edge of the Peak District National Park.
