Our client is a global engineering business with multiple sites in the North East. They are currently looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join them on a permanent basis. They are proud to invest in the development and knowledge of their current and future employees, offering a brilliant benefits scheme.\n\nAbout the Mechanical Design Engineer role\n\nThe successful Mechanical Design Engineer will be responsible for producing the Engineering deliverables for a work pack/sub-system or small project.\n\nOther responsibilities include:\n\n * \n\n Execute design tasks in accordance with direction and guidance from Lead and Senior Engineers, this can include but not limited to concept and detailed design tasks, supporting calculations, models, drawings, writing specifications and developing BOMs as required.\n\n * \n\n Interpret mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and control requirements to ensure that the design performs as per the client/project requirements.\n\n * \n\n Contribute to writing of project technical documentation such as Functional Design Specification and technical specifications\n\n * \n\n With support from Senior/Lead Engineer ensure that an appropriate amount of analysis has been performed on the sub-system/project\n\nAbout You\n\nAs Mechanical Design Engineer, you will have over 2 years of experience with knowledge and experience in a multi-disciplinary environment.\n\nOther requirements of the Mechanical Design Engineer include:\n\n * \n\n Knowledge and experience in design, manufacture and operation of some or all of the following: Trenchers, Cable/Pipe lay, LARS and bespoke onshore and Offshore equipment.\n\n * \n\n Maintain up to date knowledge in relevant technologies (e.g. materials, hydraulics) and engineering design techniques (e.g. FEA, design codes, International standards etc).\n\n * \n\n Understands the importance of project timescales and budgets, reports progress and hours promptly and accurately.\n\n * \n\n As a minimum, educated to an Engineering Degree level ( B Eng or M Eng)\n\n * \n\n Member of recognised Engineering body (e.g.
IMechE) or working towards this
