Meraki Talent has been exclusively engaged to appoint an interim Head of IT in partnership with our well-established and growing third sector client. The Interim Head of IT will join a small existing team of technology professionals while helping and engaging them on their Digital journey. The Head of IT will be managing a small team of 8 – 9 FTE across their Edinburgh and Glasgow sites. The team is experienced but naturally needs investment, support, and development.
The organisation has plans in place for a complete cloud migration and a wider Digital Transformation of the business, of which IT has a critical part to play. The Head of IT will be expected to join the business, assess the landscape, prioritize what needs to be done, then put in a plan with regards to the people element and moving the Digital Transformation forward.
This is not a Head of IT responsible for 100’s of FTE and budgets running into the 10’s of millions, and is perhaps more in line with a team size of a more traditional IT Manager role. Our client is not trying to ‘jostle’ with the large financial services firms for talent for this role, as it is very different. This role would suit an experienced IT Manager or Head of IT that wants to make a difference to society and is not just driven by day rate, who wants a challenge, is passionate about people and Digital, and wants to see their work make a real difference.
Background of the Head of Technology (Interim):
1. Experience working as a seasoned IT Manager or Head of IT is absolutely essential
2. Strong people skills are essential, our client is a people-first organisation and passionate about their staff
3. A solid breadth of technical knowledge, an ideas person who is passionate about Change
4. Ability to take the organisation on their Digital journey. The plans are there! They now need to deliver!
5. Happy to work on a hybrid basis in one of the Scottish offices and able to start in February or March
