Assistant Service Manager
Holt Recruitment is working on behalf of a family-run agricultural dealership to find an experienced and driven Assistant Service Manager. In this role, you will support the Service Manager in ensuring the smooth running of the service department while maintaining excellent customer relationships and achieving performance targets.
Salary & Hours:
£42,000 - £48,000, depending on experience.
Monday to Friday, 8am–5pm, with occasional Saturdays on a rota basis.
24 days’ holiday plus bank holidays.Key Responsibilities:
Support the Service Manager in overseeing the service team and workshop operations.
Build and maintain strong customer relationships, providing timely updates and resolutions.
Assist in driving revenue growth through upselling and customer retention strategies.
Manage work-in-progress levels and optimise callouts.
Identify areas for improvement within aftersales processes and implement solutions.
Monitor departmental KPIs and take corrective actions as needed.
Collaborate with other departments to ensure parts availability and efficient scheduling.
Mentor and support technicians, including apprentices and trainees.
Ensure compliance with health and safety standards and administrative processes.Essential Skills & Experience:
Exceptional communication skills for working with customers, engineers, and colleagues.
Highly organised, motivated, and able to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Excel.
Previous experience in a managerial role within this or a related industry, or as a senior engineer stepping into management.
Strong understanding of machinery and seasonal demands in the agricultural sector.Benefits:
