People & Organisational Manager (on- site across two locations)

We are looking for a passionate leader in people and organisational culture, who values diversity and aims to make a meaningful impact in our organisation.
The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in HR senior leadership roles, showcasing innovation and driving transformation. As the People and Organisational Manager, you will play a crucial role in strategic workforce planning, ensuring we anticipate future needs and have the talent to deliver our goals. You will provide support to the Management Team for managing around 300 staff across Tram Operations Limited (TOL) and First London Cableway (FLC), overseeing various organisational priorities.
You will be responsible for the strategic design, development and implementation of a business focused HR service for both TOL and FLC. Providing HR expert guidance and advice to Directors, Executives, Senior Leadership Team and Line Managers on complex Employment Relations or sensitive people management issues.
Responsibilities - include but are not limited to:

3. Provide strong leadership within both businesses, focusing on innovation, outcomes, and valuing people and customer service.

6. Engagement with Trade Union relations, focusing on pay, reward, and ways of working, as required.

Person specification
The successful candidate will evidence the following essential minimum criteria skills, experience and qualifications:
9. MCPID or equivalent experience
10. Have the ability to broker strong stakeholder relationships, influencing and negotiating in a context of uncertainty and change to obtain buy in and engagement across the organisation.
11. Be able to instil confidence in our people through clear advice and consistent delivery.
12. Instil trust, maximising relationships and gaining the confidence of others through integrity, authenticity and effective communication.
13. Understand the drivers of an organisation's strategies, aligns and translates them into key HR initiatives.
14. Be experienced at a senior level, delivering organisational transformation.
15. Be able to clearly articulate vision and strategy.
16. Be experienced in HR and Organisational Development as a tool for culture change, advocating and capturing how it grows an inclusive and engaged community within the workplace.
17. Model exemplary behaviours and live our values as part of the Senior Leadership team.
18. Proven knowledge of Employment Law
19. Strong Microsoft Office suite skills

Tram Operations is a FirstGroup subsidiary that operates a contract for Transport for London. With over 20 million passenger journeys a year, London Trams has some of the busiest routes in the country, operating over 4,800 services each week across the tramway.
Providing inter-urban, cross-borough services to passengers in Southwest London, between Wimbledon and New Addington, Beckenham Junction and Elmers End to Croydon. First London Cableway is a new subsidiary within FirstGroup and took over the operation of the IFS Cloud Cable Car in June 2024. The team operate one of London's most popular visitor attraction's welcoming over 1.5m guests a year, on behalf of the client Transport for London. The attraction in East London takes guests on a journey 90 meters above the Thames, connecting The O2 Arena with Royal Victoria Docks.
Our team play a crucial role in ensuring a smooth and safe experience, helping guests with purchasing tickets, providing information about the ride, and sharing local insights. They're here to create a welcoming experience, prioritising safety and enhancing the journey with local knowledge and helpful service. The team also deliver a number of seasonal events throughout the year, premium experiences and operate the London Cable Car Experience and Café.
