Legacy and In Memory Officer

Are you passionate about legacy fundraising and in-memory giving? Do you thrive in building long-term relationships with supporters? Our client, an exceptional hospice based in East London, is seeking a Legacy and In Memory Officer to deliver and grow their legacy fundraising and in-memory giving programmes.
As the Legacy and In Memory Officer, you will be responsible for developing and implementing the legacy fundraising strategy, focusing on raising awareness of gifts in wills and increasing the number of people who remember our client in their will. You will also manage the in-memory giving strategy, providing excellent stewardship to bereaved families and establishing long-term relationships.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement a comprehensive legacy fundraising strategy, including the creation of effective marketing materials, and building relationships with potential free will writing partners.
Be the first contact for all legacy enquiries and provide exceptional supporter care.
Manage regular legacy communications through various channels.
Champion Gifts in Wills throughout the organisation and promote awareness across the hospice.
Develop donor journeys for legacy interactions, ensuring personalised follow-up and ongoing engagement.
Organise and manage Will writing workshops, collaborating with local solicitors.
Create engaging content for legacy marketing materials, websites, newsletters, and social media.
Provide meaningful supporter care to increase retention and encourage active pledges.
Analyse the effectiveness of legacy marketing campaigns and adapt strategies for future success.
Develop and implement the in-memory giving strategy, including the creation of fundraising materials and the management of in-memory products such as Tribute Funds and Memory Tree.
Collaborate with funeral directors to support in-memory giving and funeral collections.
Work with Bereavement and other clinical departments to develop a holistic approach to in-memory giving.Candidate Requirements:
Proven experience in delivering legacy and/or in-memory fundraising campaigns.
Knowledge of fundraising techniques and trends.
Experience in developing and managing events.
Previous experience in multi-channel marketing for fundraising.
Ability to develop relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
