An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Supplier Quality Engineer to join a fast-paced and dynamic team on a contract basis. This role will be crucial in ensuring supplier quality, risk assessment, and process adherence, supporting production and supply chain operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Supplier Quality & Risk Management
* Conduct supplier and part risk assessments, identifying potential issues and implementing effective mitigation strategies.
* Ensure suppliers meet the required quality and capacity standards in line with Manufacturing Development Process (MDP) targets.
* Develop and implement supplier improvement strategies, ensuring sustainable enhancements in quality and delivery.
PPAP & Build Support
* Track and manage Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) approvals, ensuring parts meet specifications and are delivered as per the agreed schedule.
* Provide supplier progress reporting to the Purchasing and SQA Program team, covering open issues, part pedigree prior to each build phase, and PPAP delivery forecasts.
* Manage the non-PPAP part concession process, ensuring a clear Plan for Every Part (PFEP) is established to support build activities.
Issue Resolution & Supplier Engagement
* Drive major issue resolution, ensuring full engagement from supplier senior management to address and resolve challenges.
* Work cross-functionally to align quality standards and drive collaborative behaviours to enhance operational efficiency.
* Oversee quality verification activities, ensuring suppliers meet all required specifications and performance expectations.
Required Skills & Experience
* Experience in supplier quality engineering, particularly within automotive, aerospace, or manufacturing environments.
* Strong knowledge of PPAP, risk assessment, and supplier quality management processes.
* Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to drive cost-effective and quality-focused solutions.
* Experience managing supplier progress reports, open issues, and quality metrics to ensure successful part approvals.
* Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to drive resolution at both operational and senior management levels.
