Lecturer in Games Development (EL206m)
Salary: £27,486 – £41,467 (pro rata per annum)
Contract Type: Permanent
Hours: 29.6 hours per week – fixed term contract for up to 12 months
Location: Chester Campus
We are seeking a Lecturer in Games Development to join our team at our Chester Campus. This is an excellent opportunity for an innovative and inspiring Lecturer to provide learners with an outstanding learning experience.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Teach on a range of Games Development courses, Level 2 & 3 and Level 1 14-16 media;
2. Undertake other duties including tutorial support and associated administrative tasks;
3. Promote and safeguard the welfare of children and young persons;
4. Marketing and promotion of the provision to employers and stakeholders.
Key Person Specification Requirements:
1. Minimum 2 years industry experience;
2. Teacher trained (PGCE, DTLLS or CertEd) or willingness to work towards;
3. Knowledge of 3D Modelling Software (Maya or 3DS Max);
4. GCSE Grade C (4/5) in English and Maths;
5. Degree in relevant subject (or equivalent is desirable);
6. Understanding of equality, diversity and inclusion in work and the learning environment;
7. Up-to-date occupational experience;
8. Enhanced DBS check.
We welcome applications from Newly Qualified Teachers (NQTs) and from current industry practitioners who do not have a teaching qualification. Anyone joining the College will be part of a Lecturer Development Programme which provides staff with a range of support and training based on previous experience and individual need. The programme will offer a range of support and development opportunities, including inductions related to all College systems and processes, an assigned curriculum mentor and regular 1-2-1 support from the Quality team. Industry experts who do not currently hold a teaching qualification will be supported to complete a L4 Certificate in Education and Training and will have opportunities to complete a L5 Diploma in Education and Training.
