In this full-time, permanent role (with flexibility for those who need it), you'll bring your expertise to the forefront, delivering highly specialised assessment and treatment for patients with complex needs. As a proactive and dynamic professional, you'll also provide expert advice and support to patients, their families, carers, and health and social care colleagues.
Your role will include working as a specialist clinician on medical wards and collaborating with teams across the hospital. Weekend rota participation is part of this exciting opportunity to showcase your leadership and clinical skills.

Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will provide therapeutic clinical expertise, high quality advice and support to the multi-disciplinary team. You will work closely with our critical care MDT driving innovation of therapy provision with the wider multi-disciplinary team.
You will be leading on the physiotherapy management of patients and will need to demonstrate skills in the advanced assessment and treatment of patients who have diverse presentation and can be highly complex.
You will have the opportunity to lead on service development projects and audit to enhance care and ensure compliance with NICE and relevant standards and guidelines.
Clinical supervision, appraisal and teaching will be key components of this role. Please note that the department runs a seven day working rota.
We can offer you training opportunities to develop your specialist skills in line with your PDR. We have senior leadership training opportunities on a regular basis as well courses funded externally.

Education and qualifications:
Essential
* Member of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy or equivalent recognised by Health Care Professionals Council.
* Physiotherapy degree qualification or equivalent.
* Documented evidence of Continued Professional Development of expanded specialist skills.
Desirable
* Attained or working towards a Post Graduate Degree or Qualification.
Knowledge:
Essential
* Understanding of organisational structure of the NHS and Social Care.
* Demonstrate an ability to provide professional/clinical leadership.
* Understanding of Standards - Health Professions Council/ Chartered Society of Physiotherapy / Local/ National.
