About the Department:
The Direct Procurement team delivers performance to the track at every race by sourcing best value, lead time and quality from a supply chain of highly specialised subcontractors manufacturing components to Williams' specification using industry-leading advanced technologies.
Role Overview:
As a Direct Procurement Industrial Placement, you will be at the heart of our Procurement team, where you’ll play a critical role in coordinating procurement and manufacture of car components and manufacturing services from external suppliers, to ensure that race teams have the parts they require, when they require, whilst maximising value for money for the team. This role offers a rare opportunity to be involved in the world of Formula 1 from an early stage in your career. Your Responsibilities:
As a Direct Procurement Industrial Placement at Williams, you will:
* Support procurement team with administrative tasks, such as NCR’s, goods in quarantine, BOM creation & inventory reporting.
* Coordinate meetings, maintain procurement databases, and assist with supplier communication packs.
* Ensure internal compliance with procurement policies and assist in procurement activities.
* Management of 1 to 2 suppliers or bought in components.
* Continuously seek opportunities for process improvement and contribute to enhancing procurement practices.
Preferred Candidate Profile:
The ideal candidate will have:
* Proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Office software.
* Basic understanding of common techniques to manufacture prototype parts- ideally for motorsport.
* Strong problem-solving ability, effective communication skills, attention to detail, ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
* Background in mechanical or automotive engineering.
* Motorsport experience through internships or personal projects (highly desirable).
* Proactive problem-solving skills.
* Excellent communication abilities.
