About the role - 12 month FTC
Working in the Paper Sourcing and Group Supply Chain functions, the IT Project Manager is responsible for the overall delivery, budget and risks of IT projects ensuring that they meet the requirements of the business and are aligned with the corporate plan.
The role is responsible for effective planning, executing, and finalizing service transition of information technology projects and/or programme delivery according to defined scope, goals, and requirements within the Portfolio. Specifically, the role holder will: ensure successful delivery to time, cost and quality of allocated projects and programmes whilst adhering to all DS Smith Delivery Standards and processes and evidencing excellence in control and communication.
Key responsibilities
1. Lead and manage allocated projects, transitioning new solutions into service.
2. Collaborate with external partners to align delivery timelines.
3. Identify dependencies, manage risks, monitor milestones, control costs, and ensure on-time, in-scope, and on-budget delivery.
4. Ensure governance, adherence to processes, frameworks, standards, and policies.
5. Accomplish project objectives within cost, time, scope, and quality constraints.
6. Engage stakeholders, communicate expectations, and ensure ownership throughout the project lifecycle.
7. Follow project management methodologies and provide regular reporting.
8. Determine resource needs, secure resources, and facilitate delivery.
9. Ensure project clarity, organization, and understanding of objectives, deliverables, roles, and responsibilities.
10. Manage project budgets, track spending, and expand functional and technical knowledge.
About you
1. Full lifecycle experience of delivery of many sizable Projects and Programmes.
2. Preferably experience in large, multi-national, cross-functional teams influencing senior management and key stakeholders effectively across the organization and within complex contexts.
3. Strong experience in multi-site, multi-country environment with deep knowledge of Finance processes and Integration technology/projects/programmes.
4. Ability to both work with and challenge stakeholders, bringing experience and gravitas from an IT perspective.
5. Proven ability to own and troubleshoot significant issues.
6. Management of multiple €/£M projects.
7. Ability to present ideas in a user-friendly business-oriented language.
8. Experience of internal and outsourced delivery models.
9. Waterfall and Agile methodology experience.
10. Breadth of knowledge of IT: InfoSec, Architecture, Digital, Data, Applications, Service, and Infrastructure.
11. Ability to translate project needs into tasks or work-based packages.
12. Experience of working with and oversight of 3rd Party Partners.
13. Supply Chain functional understanding desirable.
