Senior/Principal Civil Structural Engineer (Defence Infrastructure) - Contract (Ongoing)
£55 - 70 per hour (DOE) - Inside IR35
Glasgow - Hybrid (2 days in office per month)
Our client is an international engineering consultancy with excellent opportunities in the Defence industry for a Senior/Principal Civil/Structural Engineer on a contract basis.
Responsibilities:
1. Influence the design and maintenance of key Defence facilities, setting new benchmarks for safety and compliance.
2. Lead and justify design changes in high-risk environments, ensuring safety and reliability.
3. Create and manage documentation supporting Nuclear Infrastructure Design.
4. Justify and lead design changes and concessions.
5. Communicate design justifications effectively to safety committees.
6. Develop and maintain schedules for Examination, Inspection, Maintenance, and Testing.
7. Provide expert technical advice to stakeholders.
8. Conduct reviews to ensure compliance and integrity.
Key Experience/Qualifications:
1. HNC in Civil Engineering.
2. Basic health and safety training.
3. Chartered Engineer status.
4. Training in nuclear safety case development.
5. A good track record in Civil Engineering, ideally within the UK nuclear industry.
6. Proficient in designing and assessing industrial and maritime structures.
7. Knowledgeable in relevant codes and standards.
8. Proficient in relevant design software and IT tools.
