We are seeking a dedicated SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) Learning Support Assistant to join an amazing team at a specialised SEMH school based in Croydon. As a SEMH Learning Support Assistant, you will play a crucial role in providing support to students with social, emotional, and mental health needs, assisting them in their educational and personal development journey.,
* Provide one-on-one and group support to students with SEMH needs, both in the classroom and during extracurricular activities.
* Assist in implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) and behaviour management strategies.
* Foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment, promoting positive relationships and student engagement.
* Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and other support staff to address student needs effectively.
* Monitor and report on student progress, behaviors, and achievements.
Previous experience working with individuals with SEMH needs, preferably in an educational setting.
* Strong understanding of SEMH challenges and effective support strategies.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Patience, empathy, and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
* Relevant qualifications or certifications in education, childcare, or a related field.
Preferred Qualifications/Skills:
* Additional training or qualifications in special education or behavior management.
* Experience using positive behaviour support techniques.
* Knowledge of relevant legislation and policies related to SEMH provision in schools.
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30 am to 4:00 pm
