Role Overview
The Procurement & Commercial Specialist will develop and lead procurement planning, policies, and systems that align with Clean Planet Group's mission. This role is pivotal in ensuring efficient, compliant, and cost-effective procurement activities across the organization's energy and technology projects.
Key responsibilities include:
1. Develop and implement procurement plans, policies, and procedures to ensure effective and efficient supply chain engagement, supporting organizational goals and regulatory requirements.
2. Establish and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders to understand their procurement needs and align activities accordingly.
3. Plan and organize sourcing and supplier selection processes.
4. Monitor market trends, industry developments, and supplier performance to identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.
5. Drive strategic sourcing initiatives to achieve economies of scale and maximize value.
6. Implement procurement technology solutions to enhance efficiency and data analytics.
7. Develop and oversee supplier performance management programs, including evaluations and audits.
8. Manage purchasing activities to ensure timely delivery of quality solutions at the best value.
9. Prepare and issue purchase orders and maintain an Approved Vendor List (AVL).
10. Coordinate tender processes, including issuing RFQs, managing queries, and evaluating proposals.
11. Negotiate prices and terms with suppliers to ensure best value outcomes.
12. Manage ongoing supplier relationships to optimize performance and minimize risks.
13. Conduct post-order activities, including variations, expediting, and evaluations.
14. Maintain procurement records and reports, ensuring compliance with company processes.
15. Develop systems for procurement oversight in lieu of full ERP implementation.
16. Validate supplier invoices and monitor progress against milestones.
17. Coordinate schedules and monitor progress, challenging delays as needed.
18. Support risk analysis and mitigation related to procurement activities.
19. Provide updates and reports to internal stakeholders on procurement status.
20. Collaborate with QA/QC to monitor delivery and use of materials during construction.
21. Assist with additional commercial duties as directed.
Key Requirements
Experience
* Minimum of 3 years in procurement and supply chain activities, preferably within energy, technology, or large-scale industrial projects.
* Proven experience managing complex supplier relationships and stakeholder engagement.
Skills
* Expertise in procurement systems and solutions.
* Strong negotiation, analytical, and communication skills.
* Proficiency in risk assessment and mitigation strategies.
* Knowledge of sustainability and circular economy principles in procurement.
