Are you passionate about supporting Cardiovascular and Genomics research?
We are seeking to recruit an experienced and highly motivated individual for the position of Institute Business and Research Manager for the Cardiovascular and Genomics Research Institute (CGRI). CGRI comprises four research sections: Clinical and Experimental Cardiology; Vascular Biology; and Genomics. Our principal investigators cover a wide range of clinical and basic science with a focus on translating research into clinical impact. This role is crucial in facilitating and implementing the institute's strategic objectives.
Working with the Institute Director and Section Heads, the Institute Business and Research Manager will be responsible for initiating new research collaborations, fostering a research-driven and business-minded culture to increase income, and promoting the Institute's profile.
The role includes overseeing operational administration and line management responsibilities across the Research Institutes. The successful candidate will be part of a team supporting the four research institutes.
Applicants should have experience in research and operational management, with the ability to handle complex situations.
Key attributes include:
* Administrative management experience in research/academic or business settings.
* Research project coordination experience, including managing funding applications, budgets, and reports.
* Knowledge of financial and budget management systems, with the ability to interpret data.
* Strong organizational skills, with the ability to work independently, prioritize, and resolve conflicts.
* Effective communication and collaboration skills across disciplines.
* Excellent written and verbal communication, including presentation skills.
