In our Family Assessment and Support Teams, you will work with a range of children and their families, carers, and networks. This includes children in need, children subject to child protection plans, and those involved in public law proceedings.
Main Duties of the Job
A good understanding of legislation, practice, and court processes is essential. In NYC, we offer extensive training and support for your continual professional development, including our defined practice model, Systemic, signs of safety, and family seeing/network training.
We have high aspirations for our young people and strive to work collaboratively with children, young people, and their families, believing that each child has a supportive network around them.
The role is varied; one day you may be completing words and pictures with a family, and the next, supporting a young person with complex needs. We work with all young people from birth to 18 years, maintaining strong links with external agencies and teams in North Yorkshire.
About Us
The team consists of a Team Manager and Practice Supervisors to support all Social Workers. We have dedicated business support to enable Social Workers to spend more time with children, young people, and their families. Our supervision policy includes regular group and individual supervisions, as well as opportunities to engage in County Wide practice model sessions.
The team is creative in its approach, ensuring that no two plans look the same. Social Workers are supported by technology that allows them to spend more time with young people rather than at a computer.
We are looking for Social Workers with at least two years of post-qualifying experience, a can-do attitude, and a child-focused approach who are creative in planning with children.
Be the change you trained to be.
