About the role We are now looking for a number of Assistant Educational Psychologists who would like to contribute to supporting children and young people aged 0 to 25, with a particular emphasis on those with SEND. Supporting the work of Educational Psychologists, you will gather information and undertake assessments using person centred approaches with the young people who are using the service. With the chance to learn from experienced colleagues, you will produce written feedback for a range of audiences including teachers and parents. Alongside this, you'll be supported to apply for your professional doctorate whilst in post - so we will ensure your career keeps growing and developing while you are with us. About you With an undergraduate degree in Psychology or a relevant conversion course that provides graduate basis for registration (GBR) with the British Psychological Society (BPS), you will also have at least two years of relevant experience of working with children and young people up to the age of 25, in a range of educational settings. You will have experience of research from its implementation to its evaluation, as well as experience of disseminating evidence-based practice. You will also have a good understanding of SEND legislation and you will be keen to explore the most innovative approaches to early intervention. As a dynamic self-starter with the ability to oversee your own projects, your capacity to manage complex situations when under pressure will make you an essential part of the team. Crucially, you will be well-versed in psychological theories and approaches relating to child development and education, and you will be motivated about furthering your knowledge by completing your professional doctoral training to become an Educational Psychologist. A full driving licence and access to a vehicle is essential, and it goes without saying that you will have exceptional IT and communication skills.
