Position: Full-Time Behaviour Support Teaching Assistant (1:1 Support for a Child with Autism)
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 4:00pm (Term Time Only)
Contract: Until July 2025
Start Date: As soon as possible
Are you passionate about supporting children with autism to thrive in their education? We are looking for a Behaviour Support Teaching Assistant to join a dedicated team and work closely with a child with autism at our friendly one-form entry primary school in Kilburn Park.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide one-to-one support for a child with autism, focusing on their behaviour, learning, and emotional development.
Implement tailored strategies to support the child's individual needs, as advised by the SENCO and external professionals.
Create a positive and structured environment to foster the child's growth and independence.
Collaborate with the class teacher and other staff members to ensure the child's integration and success within the classroom setting.
Monitor and record progress, ensuring clear communication with teachers and parents.
Qualifications and Experience:
Strong knowledge and understanding of autism and strategies for supporting children with autism in an educational setting.
Prior experience working with children with autism or other special educational needs is essential.
