Main duties of the job
The IV Service cares for patients in both clinic settings and their own homes throughout the West Sussex area.
The successful candidate will deliver high-quality care within a community setting, working towards patient rehabilitation, self-management, and independence. This role involves managing the day-to-day clinical needs of an identified caseload, undertaking initial assessments, and ongoing management of IV therapy.
Job responsibilities
* Deliver high-quality care within the community setting, focusing on intravenous therapy.
* Manage day-to-day clinical needs of an identified caseload under the guidance of the IV Nurse.
* Conduct holistic assessments, develop care plans, and evaluate patient progress.
* Act as an information resource for patients, their families, and multidisciplinary colleagues.
* Empower patients to participate in their care, encouraging self-management and independence.
* Ensure compliance with Trust policies and procedures, maintaining high standards of clinical documentation and data protection.
Person Specification
Qualifications
* Registered Nurse (RN) qualification/degree or diploma
* Evidence of a range of clinical competencies appropriate to the role
* ENB 998/Mentorship or equivalent or work towards
Experience
* 1 year post registration experience
* Clinical experience of IV therapy delivery and management of vascular access devices
* Experience in a community setting is desirable
Skills
* Evidence of good numeracy and literacy skills
* Demonstrates competency in a range of clinical skills including: IV administration, cannulation and venepuncture.
* IT literate or willing to achieve competency
* Experience / Proficiency with cannulation or willingness to learn.

* Demonstrate a commitment to life-long learning and development
* Identifies difficulties as challenges and works with others to identify solutions
* Ability to travel between sites, car owner/driver with access to a vehicle for work purposes
