Attendance Officer - School
Job Summary: As an Attendance Officer, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of the school by managing attendance records and performing various administrative tasks. You will be the primary contact for students, staff, and parents regarding attendance matters.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Attendance Management: Monitor and record student attendance, follow up on absences, and ensure accurate attendance records.
2. Communication: Serve as the first point of contact for parents, students, staff, and visitors. Handle phone calls, emails, and messages efficiently.
3. Student Records: Maintain up-to-date student attendance records, and manage admissions, transfers, and departures.
4. Staff Support: Assist teaching staff with administrative tasks, including preparing letters to parents, managing school trips, and ordering classroom supplies.
5. Meetings: Organise and schedule meetings, send reminders, prepare agendas, and take minutes.
6. General Administration: Perform day-to-day administrative tasks such as filing, typing, copying, binding, and scanning.
7. Health and Safety: Ensure compliance with school health and safety policies, maintain accident records, and coordinate first aid arrangements.
Qualifications:
1. At least 6 months of experience in an administrative role, preferably within an educational setting.
2. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
3. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
4. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
5. High level of confidentiality and professionalism.
Working Hours: This is a full-time position, Monday to Friday, 8:30 am to 4:00 pm. Some flexibility may be required to support school events.
Location: The school is located in Birmingham. The successful candidate should be able to commute to the school daily.
