This is an exciting opportunity to be part of an innovative service which is fundamentally changing the way in which primary care psychological treatments are provided in Redbridge.
You will be part of a large multi-professional workforce that is significantly increasing access to treatment for people with depression, anxiety and other common mental health conditions, within a Primary Care setting.
The four Talking Therapies services provide psychological therapy within the standards of the stepped care model Step 2 (Low intensity) and step 3 (High Intensity).
NELFT is committed to the four TT services and the trust is seeking to employ motivated staff to contribute to the success of these services. We are looking to recruit a Senior High Intensity therapist to support our Havering IAPT service.
Main duties of the job
We are looking for applicants who have enthusiasm for working in a primary care setting, have experience of working in the NHS and managing teams, who are adaptable; enjoy variety, can work independently as well as understand the importance of team working.
Applicants should be either an Accredited High-Intensity CBT Therapist, Clinical / Counselling Psychologist with 3 years post qualification. The role involves providing assessments and CBT interventions (individual and group-based) to people with common mental health problems (, depression, anxiety disorders), providing clinical supervision to High Intensity Practitioners working within the service and line managing staff.

High-Cost Area Supplement
This post also attracts payment for High-Cost Area Supplement of 15% of the basic salary (minimum payment of £4,551 and a maximum payment of £5,735) pro rata for part time staff.

Essential criteria
1. NVQ level 2 or equivalent standard of literacy and numeracy
2. Fully qualified Clinical or Counselling Psychologist and/or BABCP Accredited CBT Therapist ( for a minimum of 3 years)
3. Registration with BABCP and /or HCPC
4. Evidence of recent and relevant CPD activity
5. CBT Therapist qualification
6. Additional advanced training in CBT, EMDR, or other therapeutic interventions applied to a primary care service
Experience

7. Experience of working in adult mental health services
8. 4 years recent post – qualification experience in a designated post within IAPT Services or Primary Care Services.
9. Experience of providing teaching and training to other professionals, including assistant psychologists
10. Experience of supervising qualified practitioners and / or students / trainee psychologists
11. Experience of networking with organisations outside the NHS

16. Able to choose most appropriate forms of psychological therapy options to fit client need while working within IAPT guidelines
17. Specialist training or research in one or more therapeutic models/skills CBT, solution-focussed, stress management
