As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a pivotal role in providing tailored support to students with diverse special educational needs, ensuring they receive the necessary assistance to thrive academically and personally. Key Responsibilities: Provide individualised and small group support to students with a range of SEN, including but not limited to autism, dyslexia, ADHD, and other learning difficulties. Assist in the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and personalised support strategies designed to meet the unique needs of each student. Collaborate closely with educators, therapists, and other professionals to cultivate an inclusive and supportive learning environment. Cultivate positive relationships with students, fostering their emotional well-being and nurturing their confidence and self-esteem. Support students during lessons, facilitating their engagement with the curriculum and addressing any obstacles to learning. Provide assistance with students' personal care and mobility requirements, as necessary. Requirements: Previous experience working with children or young people with SEN is highly desirable. Possession of relevant qualifications, such as a Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification, or equivalent, would be advantageous. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to establish rapport with students, colleagues, and parents/guardians. Patient and empathetic demeanour, coupled with a genuine dedication to supporting the learning and growth of students with SEN. Flexibility and adaptability, with the capacity to effectively respond to the diverse needs of students within a dynamic educational setting.
